What is the most hackable GPS?
I made my own GPS navigation system with these components:
1. Nokia smartphone , N72, $ 200 (any symbian series 60 will do)
2. A bluetooth GPS (Navibe , $ 45)
3. Smartcom GPS software on phone ($ 40)
4. Downloaded and stiched maps from maps.google.com (Free)
I downloaded the maps from gogole maps (http://uselessdiaries.blogspot.com/2008/03/download-free-maps-from-google-maps.html) and stored it in the N72. You need to calibrate the map the first time use it. (http://uselessdiaries.blogspot.com/2008/04/this-entry-essentially-explains-how-to.html).

- The RAM Rail Mount consists of a locking tooth system with a standard RAM diamond plate end.
- The mount will fit a rail diameter from 1.0" to 1.1".
- Placing a rubber lining (not included) between the tube and the mount for a tube with a diameter less than 1" will help the base grab the rail.

This is an inexpensive innovative mounting solution. Comes with the cradle too!
The RAM Rail Mount consists of a locking tooth system with a standard RAM diamond plate end. The mount will fit a rail diameter from 1.0" to 1.1". To mount to a circular rail, simple press the composite U clamp around the rail and then connect and tighten the small nut and bolt to close the U clamp. Next connect the diamond plate to the mounted clamp at the required angle and screw in the other bolt through the diamond plate. Now you are ready to connect any of the RAM Composite HOL Cradles or any other cradle with two holes positioned 1.912" center to center.
